Fall Internship Available!

The Horticulture Department is offering one paid internship this fall semester.

Internships allow students the opportunity to gain "hand-on" experience in the field of Horticulture. Participants in the Horticulture Departments paid internship program will gain practical skills and hands-on experience in specific areas of study. The internship opportunities are designed to fit the intern's individual needs and interests within horticulture disciplines. The link classroom learning to the workplace, add related experience to a student's resume, help students develop mentor relationships and build professional contacts. The Horticulture Internships are a great way to build a resume, provide real experience, college credit, and $9 per hour pay.

For more details and an application please contact Meghan Blair at mblair@miracosta.edu.

A Successful Open House

On the night of August 19th we held our first Open House. The event kicked off with an introduction by Department Chair Claire Ehrlinger, followed by short presentations from our Faculty. The Open House was a success, bringing in 60 new students to the MiraCosta Campus! We received great feedback from the perspective students, and we hope to recreate the event in the future!

Thank you to everyone who helped participate and advertise the event.
